In December of 2010 I completed a marketing diploma. The tools that I learned and the people I have met have impacted me in a very positive way. This blog is a chance for me to remember what I have learned, apply it outside of the classroom, as well as a source of information for everyone else who forgot or did not have the chance.
I couldn't possibly cover all the topics that I had to learn well enough to justify them. Also, I honestly wouldn't have the time. So I'm going to pick an area which has always been one of my interests, the internet. Specifically, I want to help you the reader understand and learn how you can create something online which is yours to grow and share. As long as you know how to use a browser (hopefully you use Firefox), how to type, cut and paste, and click then you can learn how to make and maintain your own website. As time goes on I will discuss more topics like programming and graphic design. Yes, eventually you might even become an amateur programmer like me.
If you're looking to make a quick buck, you're in the wrong place. I'm just going to show you how to say, "Hello World!" and I guarantee that someone will say hello to you too.
My own mother, even today, is asking me to "make a Facebook" for her or to "put her on Facebook". I know that sometimes she feels left out, like many people even in my generation, and I can't always be there to help her and many other through the process. So for my mother and everyone else who really wants to learn, I'm going to try and make this as easy and enjoyable as possible.
If this website helps you in any way, all I ask is that you help someone else by sharing this website.
Thank you to all the professors at Humber: Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, for making my experience enjoyable as well as educational.
